with the weather
a fashion film for elle japan. actor mizukawa asami in london for burberry’s winter 2025 show, on the city and the kind of expression she values.
elle japan asked for a special interview with mizukawa asami around burberry’s winter 2025 show. we made it as a fashion film rather than a red carpet clip: two chapters, one grade and one mix, moving from a winter park to the show itself and cut so the house, the magazine and the talent each read clearly inside a minute and a half.
three names on one brief
a global luxury house, an international publisher and a well known actor each arrive with their own guidelines, their own sign off and their own idea of what the film is for. the work had to satisfy all three without ever looking negotiated.
a show runs once. the second half of the film had to be covered in a single pass, live, with no chance to go again, and still match the pace and the grade of the chapter shot slowly in the park.
a fashion film, not a red carpet clip.
with the weather
the first chapter is the trench and the season. bare winter trees, low angles against a grey sky, the check scarf and the cuff buckle held close. we shot it slowly and let the weather do the art direction, so the house reads through texture and silhouette rather than through a logo on screen.

things that resonate
the second chapter moves inside, to the show and the hours around it. the blue of the runway does the work the sky did outside, and the coverage stays close to the talent so the film keeps one point of view instead of becoming a catwalk recap.

one grade, one mix, one master
two very different locations had to feel like one film. a single grade carries warm camel through cold daylight and into the blue of the show, one sound mix holds the interview over both chapters, and the master was finished for release on elle japan’s own channels.
